Dr. Martello has a Bachelors and Masters degree in Biological Sciences
from Stanford University and received her medical degree from U.C.L.A.
She was a member of the distinguished Grossman Society and was awarded
the Hyde Scholarship awarded to the most promising female medical
student entering the field of surgery. She trained at the prestigious
Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and was the first resident
accepted by the University of Kentucky for entry into the highly
competitive training programs for both general and plastic surgery.
After completing her plastic surgery training, Dr. Martello was accepted as a hand fellow at the world-renowned Kleinert Institute in Louisville. She was a member
of the United States Hand Transplant Team that prepared for the first ever hand transplant in the country. She represented the team in presentations in Indianapolis, Vancouver, Minneapolis and Hawaii. |
